The Center for the Environmental Implications of NanoTechnology (CEINT) based at Duke University and the International Water Association (IWA), in collaboration with PERMEANT, are organizing an international conference on Particle Separations and Nanoparticles in Water to be held at Duke University June 3 to 5, 2009.
Conference Themes: Particle measurement and characterization: new challenges and protocols, synthesis, monitoring, reactivity, new methods, nano sensors/probes, coagulants, pretreatment, coatings. Fate, transport, toxicity: Risk assessment, bioavailability, particle transport, exposure, environmental transformations/interactions, particle aggregation, deposition, surface chemistry, mobility, hydrodynamics, numerical simulation and modeling. Particle separation and transformations: fundamentals, applications, numerical simulation, hybrid and new separation processes, particle removal/ cleaning, fouling, membrane bioractors.
