LOCATION:

MEETING AGENDA:

The agenda will be finalized the week of the meeting. (It must be created customized to the titles of the posters/presentations and this can only be done when they are all received).

MEETING FORMAT:

The format of the meeting will be based around groupings of 5-minute presentations by students and post-docs followed by discussion panels of CEINT faculty who lead research in the area. These presentations are designed to practice the critical skill of the elevator speech. Use this time to highlight your primary research question(s), interesting findings, and next steps, and we strictly adhere to the 5 minute time limit with the philosophy that this is just enough time to provoke thought and let people know about your work so they can contact you for more information, while also allowing for a wide range of presenters across the center. We’d like to have as many students and post-docs present as are interested; if you are unsure whether you should present, please check with your faculty advisor.

POSTERS:

Students and post-docs are asked to create a poster for the Wednesday evening poster session, using the template available here under Quick Links. Each person is responsible for printing and bringing their own poster (costs paid by each institution). For those interested, fabric posters can be ordered from spoonflower.com, which they can be folded up for easy travel. Just make sure to inquire about the necessary lead time for submitting and receiving in the mail prior to traveling to Duke.

LODGING, TRANSPORTATION, PARKING:

Once you register for the meeting online, Eileen Kramer will use the travel dates you provide to book the hotel for you automatically; you will not receive a direct confirmation notice.
